Family Friendly Events

Children & families are an important part of our community; we are enriched by their participation and enthusiasm!

Listed below are some of our activities that young children & parents especially enjoy doing together with other families.  Please check our home page, monthly Carillon newsletter, and the Sunday bulletin for the precise dates & times.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper (hosted by the United Methodist Women)–Come to Asbury Hall and enjoy eating pancakes, scrambled eggs, & bacon!

Palm Cross Ministry–Gather in Vincent Hall on the Saturday before Palm Sunday to make crosses out of palms.  The palm crosses will be handed out to everyone at the Palm Sunday worship service.

Easter Morning Walk–Meet on our front lawn at 7:45AM for a gentle sidewalk stroll through beautiful Forest Park.  We return in time for the Easter Morning Breakfast.

Game Night for All Ages–Bring boardgames, cards, puzzles, and a snack to share!

Blessing of the Animals–Bring your pet to this short worship service on our front lawn.  At the end, Pastor John will greet and give a blessing to each animal present.

Carillon concerts take place at 7:00 PM on our front lawn on five Thursday evenings from the end of June through July.  Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and, if you can, $5 per person for the light supper.  Guest carillonneurs from around the United States and Europe perform on the carillon.

Neighborhood Block Party–Come to our front lawn to enjoy free food, games, bubbles, & a bounce house!

Trinity Sunday Picnic–Celebrate the beginning of another year of Church School by joining us for the 10:30 AM worship service and the picnic outside afterwards!  Sometimes we play with a parachute, or are entertained by a clown!

Night Hike–Gather in Asbury Hall for soup and a story or two.  Then take a hike into Forest Park to decorate a tree with edible things for all of God’s creatures who live there!

All-Church Christmas Caroling–Meet in the parking lot to carpool to the homes of some of our church members who don’t get out much.  We’ll sing songs & strengthen our connections to each other.

Family Christmas Eve Service–Gather in the sanctuary at 5:30 PM on December 24th for a worship service that enables all ages to celebrate Jesus’ birth.
